MEMBERS OF THE BAND

Hello, I am Jesse.  I sing with Mid-life Crisis and at times appear to play some guitar and sax.  I started singing and songwriting when I was about 3 seconds old.  I might have been signed then but they said it sounded like everyone else.  Imagine that.

At 14, I started my music journey with bands like SPECTRUM, WORKX, TYME, and BACK IN TYME and now with MLC band.  I also had the pleasure of performing in a few theater productions such as Phantom of the Opera, Jekyll and Hyde, and Les Miserables.  It has been a most enjoyable journey through the years, one that I hope continues for many more.
Hello, I am Mike Kurtz (Bass).  It started for me on a cold night in Dec. 1980.  I was making a few bucks as a roadie for Jesse's band, TYME.  I was only 15, didn't really have any music of my own to speak of.  Only pop 45's. The sound man gave me The Who's Tommy on cassette and then Quadrophenia.  I was shaken, my musical awareness awoken.  In the months to follow, I listened to anything and everything I could to feed this incredible hunger I'd had.  Within a year I started playing bass and realized I had a knack for it.  Now, I always say that I'm gonna end up as the old dude on a stool in the polka band.  Until then, no polka requests please.
Hello, I am Dave Buzard (with one Z).  I play guitar and sing poorly used to play in Ask a Stranger, Project Twelve (34), and Kee Kee Anderson.

I've played all over PA, NY, OH, MD, and even VA.  I have used ESP, Fernandes, Yamaha, Gibson guitars with amps by Fender, Tech 21, and Gallien Krueger.  I have used special effects by everyone.

When not performing I work as a Paramedic Supervisor.  I enjoy my family, friends, job, and love laying down the boogie.
Hello, I am Phillip Cushing, age 55, playing for 40 years!  I started playing in bands at the ripe old age of 15.  My 1972  Punxsutawney High School yearbook reads "most likely to be a professional musician"!  Well that didn't happen!  I spent time in semi-professional recording sessions in Nashville and worked with the same engineer & studio used by Grand Funk Railroad in Cleveland.  I had a song by the "Anything Goes" band featured in the movie Groundhog Day!  At present, I enjoy the energy and comradery in the eclectic Mid-life Crisis band, the 8th band I've been a member of.  The highlight of my music life so far: meeting my two favorite drummers; Carl Palmer and Kenny Aronoff.
Hello, I am John Keeley (keyboards).  The first band I was in was called Horizon.  That was in 1973.  after high school I played in several of Oil City's top bands.  That includes Roadhouse and the Cubs.  After "retiring" in '82, I  to touch a keyboard for 20 years.   After being asked to put Roadhouse together for a benefit for a friend's sick daughter in 2002, the bug bit again.  I went out and bought new keys.  After several failures, I finally got something going with Jesse, Dave, Mike and Phill.  I think our band Mid-Life Crisis is all about having fun, something we seem to do quite well.  Equipment I've used:  Korg CX3, Korg TR61, Alesis ION, Motion Sound Pro145, Traynor K4.
